3D Systems announced the availability of Go!MODEL, a 3D reverse engineering and design tool developed in partnership with portable 3D measurement solutions specialist Creaform, specifically for their newly released Go!SCAN 3D portable scanner. Using the integrated Go!MODEL and Go!SCAN 3D package, users can capture physical objects and directly model renderings and designs optimized for 3D printing.

Powered by 3D Systems Rapidform platform, Go!MODEL offers professional mesh editing capabilities with automatic NURBS surfacing utility and functionality. The solution can be used to prep scanned objects for printing; includes wizards for frequently used scan processing steps; and can reduce file size by half via decimation functionality.

“Go!MODEL extends the utility and functionality of VXelements, our proprietary data acquisition software, and helps our Go!SCAN 3D users get more out of their scanned data,” said Daniel Brown, product manager at Creaform. “Go!MODEL’s mesh optimization and NURBS surfacing capabilities are particularly compelling.”
