3D3 Solutions has released KScan3D, its Kinect-based 3D scanning software solution.

“KScan3D benefits from years of research and development on our professional line of 3D scanning products including the HDI 3D Scanner and FlexScan3D Software,” said Nick Koziupa, product manager at 3D3. “The software combines our state-of-the-art technology with Microsoft’s Kinect hardware to provide beginners, students, educators, and hobbyists with a fully featured, easy to use 3D scanning solution.”

With KScan3D, Kinect hardware, and a PC or Mac running Windows OS,  users can capture 3D scans quickly, the company says. Advanced algorithms process the captured information and enable users to export finalized data in a variety of common file formats.

The scanner can be purchased separately or as a bundled package with the Kinect for Windows hardware. A 30-day trial version of KScan3D is also available.
