Adept Technology Wins Innovation Award for Mobile Robot

The device is completely autonomous and ideal for warehouse and factory environments.

Adept Technology, a provider of intelligent robots, has won an Innovation Award at the 2014 Emballage exhibition for its Lynx Conveyor mobile robot. The exhibition ran from November 17 to 20 in Paris.

The Lynx Conveyor robot combines an autonomous intelligent vehicle (AIV) base with a motorized conveyor platform. This creates a robot that can receive, transport and deliver goods. It can, according to the company, self-navigate, avoid obstacles and select the best path to complete the task. They are ideal for environments such as warehouses, distribution centers and factories.

“We are delighted to have won an Emballage Innovation Award for our Lynx Conveyor robot,” said Bruno Adam, director of Adept Technology France. “The Lynx Conveyor illustrates the practicality and versatility of our Lynx mobile robots for transporting goods throughout large facilities. These unique vehicles self-navigate congested environments, work collaboratively with people and machines and require no facility adaptions. They allow users to achieve a new level of efficiency and cost-savings in their materials movement.”
