Altair, Cray Inc. Form OEM Agreement

The terms will allow for easier distribution of PBS Professional.

Cray Inc. and Altair have entered an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) agreement. This collaboration expands this professional relationship and places PBS Professional as Cray’s preferred workload manager.

Under the terms of the agreement, the company states, Cray can integrate PBS Professional onto its systems quicker. The platform enables users of HPC (high-performance computing) environments to improve productivity, optimize resources and simplify cluster management.

“Our customers will benefit from this relationship as we will be able to more easily and cost-effectively deliver unique, integrated technologies, such as DataWarp I/O acceleration and application power management,” said Barry Bolding, vice president of marketing and business development at Cray. “Altair and PBS Professional are established leaders in HPC workload management, and we look forward to leveraging this agreement for growth in commercial and other emerging market segments. Now Altair users can come directly to Cray for engineered solutions that are ready to meet their highest HPC requirements.”
