AMD Reveals FirePro Server GPU

AMD has announced that its FirePro S9150 server GPU (graphics processing unit) is now available for the HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 server. This GPU is equipped with the AMD Graphics Core Next architecture, which is specifically designed for compute workloads. It also supports enhanced double precision floating point computation.

The FirePro S9150 server GPU has 16GB of GDDR5 memory and a maximum power consumption of 235 watts. Its other features include:

• 5.07 Teraflops of single-precision floating point performance;
• 512-bit memory interface and up to 320GB/s memory bandwidth;
• 2,816 stream processors;
• Error Correcting Code Memory support;
• And compatibility with OpenCL 2.0.
