ARC Group Worldwide Announces 3D Systems Printer Purchases

ARC Group Worldwide’s 3D Material Technologies (3DMT) division has purchased 3D Systems ProX direct metal sintering printers.

According to a company press release, the printers build at a size of 9.8 x 9.8 x 11.8 inches, have the capability of making parts with stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, aluminum and ceramics. The addition of these printers will also expand ARC’s rapid prototyping and short run production offerings to its global customers.

“The technology in the ProX machines is what attracted us to the 3D Systems equipment.  In particular, the ability to make stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and alumina with fine powders, high-quality surface finishes, and thin walls complements our sister companies’ Metal Injection Molding (MIM) capabilities.  These are the capabilities that our medical, aerospace, automotive, and defense customers are demanding,” said Ashely Nichols, General Manager of 3DMT.
