ARTVPS Launches Renderfarm Solution for Mental Ray

ARTVPS Ltd. (Cambridge, UK) launched its renderfarm software solution for mental ray (RS-MR), a Windows-based application (from Autodesk) that combines mental ray rendering 64-bit software with ARTVPS’ render management interface. Described as flexible and easy to use, RS-MR is compatible with Autodesk 3dsmax and Maya plus Softimage XSI.

Using RS-MR, ARTVPS Ltd. says it is simple to build a mental ray render farm. As well as giving you control over workflow, you can use your existing hardware by installing RS-MR on any 64-bit machine running Microsoft Windows. Additional software renderers or other production or management applications can be run together with RS-MR.

mental ray 64-bit standalone is a fast, high-performance renderer for generating photorealistic images from .MI files exported from 3D applications. RS-MR is a fully licensed, standalone application running independently of the 3D host and controlled via the MI File Manager, which removes the need for command line control of the rendering tasks.
