ATOS Core Series Blue Light 3D Scanners Released

The ATOS Core series from Capture 3D is the newest addition to the ATOS product line of advanced 3D scanners engineered by GOM mbH Germany. According to the company, it fuses the latest GOM 3D scanning technology and intelligent software for inspection, rapid prototyping and reverse engineering applications. Functionality and features, such as parametric inspection, touch-probe, photogrammetry and/or automation can be added as project requirements progress. Additionally, it can be used in conjunction with the ATOS Triple Scan and ATOS Compact Scan series, or multiple ATOS Core units via instant hot-plugging.

It is architected using GOM’s stereo camera structured blue light technology to quickly obtain a physical object’s surface geometry digitally.  After each scan, the software automatically aligns each measurement to build an accurate 3D virtual representation of the object, the company says. Core is offered in three different product lines: Essential, Professional, and Kinematics.

The Essential Line is for applications, such as reverse engineering or rapid prototyping, which requires 3D scanning without the advanced inspection functionality. It consists of the ATOS Core sensor, GOM Scan software, an image processing computer, and accessories.

The Professional Line tackles complex metrology applications, according to the company. It encompasses the Essential Line hardware and adds on several advanced functionalities.

The Kinematics Line is a fully automated solution designed to increase throughput, productivity, and repeatability for industrial quality control processes. It includes everything from the Professional line, plus a small object motorization unit or ATOS ScanBox off-the-shelf robotic solution.
