In Autodesk’s (San Rafael, CA) recent acquisition of the technology and product assets of Opticore, a subsidiary of Design Communication, of Gothenburg, Sweden, its digital prototyping solution for the automotive and consumer product design industries is strengthened, furthering the mass adoption of 3D design.
Autodesk will continue development and support of Opticore’s advanced technology, which produces interactive and realistic 3D digital product visualizations and presentations, and its Autodesk Showcase, which simplifies the process of preparing data and scenes for design presentations and reviews.
Opticore products also offer, real-time ray-tracing along with various environments and materials. Its automotive and consumer customers include AUDI AG, Ford Motor Company, Hyundai, Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi; consumer product and transportation customers include Canon Inc., Philips Consumer, Nokia Mobile, Electrolux and Bombardier Trains.
