Autodesk Expands Composite Analysis Offerings

Autodesk has integrated Project Sundance capabilities as part of Autodesk Simulation Composite Analysis software. The project was initially part of Autodesk Labs.

Simulation Composite Analysis can interpret imported information from Advanced Material Exchange, combine it with a structural mesh then run a nonlinear structural analysis of the component within finite element analysis (FEA) software. This capability, according to the company’s blog In The Fold, significantly improves insight and accuracy of the structural performance of chopped fiber composite components.

Users can also import Moldflow simulation results, analyze progressive composite failures and complete multi-scale analysis.
