AutoDesSys, Inc. (Columbus, OH) offered previews of BonZai 3D, a new 3D modeler that addresses the demand of designers who wish to express their thoughts graphically, easily, on the fly, but also clearly with the capability to advance to the next level of detailed solid modeling and production, all the way to fabrication.

BonZai 3D, which is being prepped for beta testing, was developed as a quick, easy,  simple, geometrically robust approach to 3D. The company says BonZai, which is likened to an offspring of form.Z, represents a fresh approach to 3D modeling. The BonZai tools have resulted from experiences, experiments, research, and user input of the past 15 years. Its goal is to support the conceptual and sketching stages of design with utmost ease, but also the production of accurate and robust models that can be used for construction drawings, can be smoothly rendered, animated, and fabricated.

BonZai is built on formoZ’s trademark strengths that include solids and NURBS,  multi-platform support, reliable Booleans, import/export file translators, and above all its solid reputation for the mark of excellence in 3D.

Features in BonZai include a smart interface, modeling tools (extrusions, sweeps,  transformations, etc.); real time Booleans, NURBS curves and surfaces, dynamic graphic editing, and much more.

AutoDesSys also demonstrated the newly released form.Z RenderZone Plus 6.6.
