The MPDS4 Animation Definition Dialog allows users to define and save animation sequences, illustrating mechanical handling processes in a plant or factory.

CAD Schroer Group (CSG; Moers, Germany)  released version 3.1 of its MEDUSA4 Design Automation Suite, a design automation suite that introduces new productivity tools in drafting, 3D, and plant design, and offers further improvements and enhancements.

V3.1 provides the MPDS4 Animation Definition Dialog that allows users to define and save animation sequences, illustrating mechanical handling processes in a plant or factory. New in MEDUSA4 2D Drafting is SMART Draw, which offers Intelligent Sketching; CADConvert, a multi paper space AutoCAD Drawing Conversion; new numbering/un-numbering/re-numbering tool for text on sheet; and a New Move-By-Grid Tool.

Also new in MEDUSA4 3D are 3D Interfaces such as a New 3D DXF Import and Enhanced STEP Import. In other MEDUSA4 add-on products, the update adds MEDPro, which offers support for Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4, 64-bit support, and shaded model views; MEDUSA4 PARAMETRICS, a new Tool for Editing Dimension Values; MEDUSA4 P&ID, which is now with In-Line Labels and Reporting Enhancements; and MEDRaster Colour, which offers support for raster images inside drawings imported with CADConvert.

MPDS4 offers improved graphics handling and a new mode (16+) for displaying models in more detail and new in MPDS4 Add-On Products are: MPDS4 mechanical handling - a new discipline for intelligence in interconnected components; MPDS4 3D component designer; and MPDS4 factory layout - new tool for positioning components in any 3D plane.
