The mechanical, industrial, and technical calculation package MITCalc (Decin, Czech Republic; mitcalc.com) has been updated to version 1.40 with numerous modifications, corrections, and enhancements that include a new worm gear calculation, an integration with its bearing calculation modification, and a new translation into Chinese.
The new worm gear calculation is aimed at determining proper geometry and strength in worm gear designs. Gearing can be designed for selected safety coefficients including optimizations for weight, efficiency, centerline distances, etc. Worm gear thermal analysis is now possible and will help solve for such things as wear, seizure, deflection, and failure due to fatigue. The calculation is in accordance with DIN 3996, DIN 3975-1, DIN 3975-2, ANSI/AGMA 6022-C93, and AGMA 6034-B92 specifications. Outputs to 2D and 3D CAD systems are also supported.
Calculations are now fully compatible with MSOffice 2007, AutoCAD 2008, AutoCAD LT, IntelliCAD, Ashlar Graphite, TurboCAD, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Pro/Engineer and other programs. The calculations support both Imperial and Metric, and are processed according to ANSI, ISO, DIN, BS, Japanese, and other standards.
