Canon U.S.A. Announces Océ ColorWave 500

The system has cloud connectivity and a Window 8 embedded controller.

Canon U.S.A. Inc., a provider of digital imaging solutions, has revealed the Océ ColorWave 500 large-format printer. It is ideal for generating CAD, GIS documents and color graphics, the company states.

The system has cloud connectivity, a Windows 8 embedded controller in addition to print, copy and scan functionalities. It is also equipped with four online media rolls that accommodate with large volumes and sets, multiple document sizes and different media types.

“Our customers are demanding more flexibility and color capabilities from their printing devices. Based on this market demand, we have once again advanced our core large format printing capabilities to help our users become more competitive,” said Junichi Yoshitake, senior vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A. Inc. “The Océ ColorWave 500 system offers a unique combination of black & white and color printing in a single compact walk-up system that works like a tablet. It’s designed to help people work as efficiently and effectively as possible in today’s fast-paced business world.”

The Océ ColorWave is expected to be available in March.
