Check it Out: COMSOL Conference

By Anthony J. Lockwood

Dear Desktop Engineering Reader:

Check it Out: COMSOL Conference

This past Fall I attended my fourth COMSOL Conference. Whoops, first things first. COMSOL paid my hotel, feed, and bar tabs last October so that I could attend the conference in Boston. Still, I cannot overstate this: The COMSOL Conference is a premier event on multiphysics analysis for engineers, researchers, scientists, academics, and students. You should make a point to go next fall whether you are using multiple physics tools or just thinking about adopting multiphysics analyses. This is the place to go see, hear, and learn all about it.

Anyway, you don’t have to wait for next year’s COMSOL conference to start learning more about the use of multiphysics modeling across all disciplines of engineering, alternative energy, science, industrial and space research, medical research, and education because the CD of proceedings from the Fall 2009 COMSOL conference is now available free of charge. This CD is packed with technical papers, user presentations, animations, and slide shows from more than 800 users of COMSOL Multiphysics. That means that, no matter what your field, chances are excellent you will learn how multiphysics simulation can help you every day.

Let me give you an idea what this CD means to the wider engineering community: I was speaking with one of COMSOL’s honchos and he told me that well over 100,000 proceedings CDs from previous years are in circulation. I’m pretty sure that makes the COMSOL Conference CD the single most read compilation of technical information on the use of multiphysics modeling in the world. And, let me tell you, I have worked my way through a few of these CDs over the years searching for articles, authors, and—most important to you out there in the field—inspiration. They’re terrific.

Now it’s your chance to learn why hundreds of thousands of COMSOL Conference CDs have been ordered over the years. Hit the link in today’s Check It Out message. This will take you to a registration page. Once you submit your contact information, the people at COMSOL will have that CD to you in no time. The COMSOL Conference CD 2010 Edition is simply a marvelous resource. Don’t miss it.

Thanks, Pal.—Lockwood
