COMSOL Releases Multiphysics 5.1

COMSOL has released Multiphysics 5.1. This version, according to the company, enhances user experience and productivity by offering model setup and application design in a single interface. 5.1 also includes updates to the Application Builder, improved layouts for app design and LiveLink for Excel.

Highlights of the new features include:

• Tighter integration between the Model Builder and Application Builder,
• Face detection for imported meshes, surface simplification in mesh-to-geometry conversion and domain and boundary selections for NASTRAN Property ID Numbers tools.
• A new matrix-free domain-decomposition solver.
• A new multiphysics interface for hygroscopic swelling has been added in the Structural Mechanics module.
