Dassault Systemes (DS; Paris, France) announced an agreement in which it would acquire Engineous Software (Cary, NC).

The acquisition is expected to extend SIMULIA‘s ability to provide Simulation Lifecycle Management (SLM) solutions on the V6 IP collaboration platform. The proposed acquisition, for an estimated price of $40 million, should be completed before the end of July subject to specific conditions.

Engineous’ FIPER software lets organizations access, execute, and reuse design simulation tools and processes by streamlining the design of engineered products. The software allows resources to be connected within an organization and externally with partners, integrating legacy and best-of-breed analytical and design tools through a Web-enabled environment.

Engineous customers include Boeing, GM, Nissan, Procter & Gamble, Caterpillar, Canon, Rolls Royce, United Technologies, General Electric, Samsung and Toyota.
