New blog offers hardware giant's take on cloud computing.

Dell, Inc. (Austin, TX) is notnecessarily known for clustering, HPC, supercomputers, or cloud computing.Instead, Dell focuses on building simple, powerful, PCs and servers basedentirely on industry standards. Pretty straightforward.

So why would Dellhave anything to say about clouds? Because most clouds use servers basedentirely on industry standards!

The new blog http://direct2dell.com/cloudcomputing/default.aspx spends a lot of time walking through the basics: how does the concept of cloudcomputing differ from software as a service (SaaS), what’s a grid and how dothey work, and trends in cloud computing. What will get real interesting is ifthe comments and discussions really take off, and if experts (like you!) end upcontributing to Dell’s strategy.
