Dell Precision M6400 Offers Mobile Workstation Performance

By DE Editors

Dell (Round Rock, TX; dell.com) launched the Dell Precision M6400 and M6400 Covet, describing it as its most powerful, ISV-certified mobile workstation that will “revolutionize” mobile workstations’ performance for professionals in engineering, biosciences, and other industries with twice the cores and triple the storage capacity of similar products.

Designed to deliver unparalleled power in a mobile workstation, coupled by ISV-certified performance, the Dell Precision M6400 ensures that customers can operate mission critical ISV applications smoothly,  while simplifying mobile IT infrastructure through fully configurable systems that offer freedom from desktop workstations.

The Dell Precision M6400 next-generation 17-in. mobile workstation (starting at $2599) is housed in an anodized aluminum chassis with edge-to-edge glass RGB LED display. It supports up to 16GB of RAM, a 1GB graphics card, Intel Core 2 Duo Quad-Core QX9300 Extreme Edition quad-core processor, features four memory slots and RAID capability with up to one terabyte (1TB) of storage on two drives, and is currently available in anodized aluminum. The company says it offers “unparalleled power” and describes its form factor as stylish.

(The M6400 Covet, which comes in a one-of-a-kind, Vibrant Orange chassis, is dueby the end of the year, says the company.)

Previously unveiled as a 17-in. concept product, the Dell Precision M6400 joins the M4400 and M2400 models that were introduced last month. All three mobile workstations are compatible with all accessories for the new Dell Latitude E-Family.
