DEM Solutions has released EDEM 2.4, which includes more particle contact models and other new features.
The EDEM 2.4 release provides users with an expanded physics capability, and rendering that utilizes the increased power available in the latest graphics hardware. Models for fine particle cohesion, along with the simulation of bulk plastic deformation, have been added to the EDEM simulation tools to help develop and design bulk solids handling and processing equipment.
New features include new contact models for rolling friction, cohesion and plastic deformation, and an extension of EDEM’s CAD capability. Now also included as standard is the contact model that enables simulation of elastic-plastic deformation behavior in compressible bulk materials.
