Delft Spline Systems announced the release of DeskProto Version 6.1, its 3D CAM program for CNC milling and rapid prototyping. This upgrade features a new Offset strategy and Toolpath sorting to prevent unneeded positioning movements.
The software can import STL files from any 3D CAD system, and can export NC program files suited for any 3/4/5-axis CNC milling machine. 2D CAM and bitmap machining are possible as well.
“We added the Offset strategy on request of many pedorthists, for machining custom insoles,” said Lex Lennings, DeskProto sales manager. “Beta testing proved that the new strategy works great in many other application areas as well.”
V61 has been released in English, Chinese, Dutch, German and Spanish, French and Italian will follow soon.
The new version is a free update for registered V6.0 users. For registered users of previous versions, a discounted update offer is available until the end of the year. A free trial version of DeskProto in Chinese is available at the company’s website; current DeskProto users can install the translated version without any extra cost.
