Delft Spline Systems has launched a new version of the DeskProto CAM software. DeskProto Version 6.0 includes the option to do Five-Axis machining.

Other new features include new wizards that can guide the user to easily create toolpaths for roughing, finishing and for a smoothing contour. This dual user interface is suitable for novice users, while more experienced users will use the dialog-based interface. Several wizards are available, including wizards for rotary machining, for bitmap machining and for 2D machining.

Toolpaths now are calculated in a multi-threaded process, reducing the total calculation time on multi-core computers. 64 bits calculations were already supported in V5.
