Geometric Ltd. (Mumbai, India) announced that its Design for Manufacturability (DFM) product, DFMPro achieved Solution Partner status from SolidWorks Corporation (Concord, MA; http://www.solidworks.com).

Fully integrated with SolidWorks 3D CAD, DFMPro facilitates upstream manufacturability validation and identification of design areas that are difficult, expensive, or impossible to manufacture.

Used at the designing stage, this tool allows quick and in-depth examination of product manufacturability. DFMPro performs rule-based checks that can predict manufacturing problems early in the designing stage. It considerably reduces the design review steps, thereby pushing new products into the manufacturing stage swiftly.

DFMXpress, a lighter version of DFMPro is shipped with every seat of SolidWorks 2008. Geometric recently announced the launch of DFMPro 2008 EX, the latest release of DFMPro, which permits organizations to build their own custom rule libraries easily and quickly. A limited period trial version of DFMPro 2008 EX is available, or for further details, visit Geometric’s DPT business unit.
