EarthLCD (San Juan Capistrano, CA) introduced the ezLCD Series,  programmable color TFT LCD Modules with touchscreens that are designed to offer OEMs a solution to speed up development time for new product designs requiring displays. The intelligent serial LCDs incorporate all the necessary components for a graphical user interface (GUI) in a small, low power consumption package,  says the company. Plus, OEMs can customize the LCD for their specific product application.

The ezLCD-101-EDK, which features a 10.4 in. (640 x 480) TFT Color LCD, is suited for applications where large screen displays are required,  such as medical devices, security monitoring systems, and industrial controls.

Connectivity for the ezLCD family is provided via serial,  USB, i2C, SPI, or parallel interfaces. Users upload bitmap images, fonts, or icons and control them with a microcontroller or PC. Existing embedded products can add a GUI or status display LCD quickly and with little change to the system.

In a second announcement, EarthLCD introduced the new intelligent ezLCD-001-EDK color LCD Display Module, a miniature-sized module with a 2.7-inch LCD for quickly incorporating customizable GUI interface into handheld products with tight space constraints. The ezLCD-001-EDK 2.7-in. display is immediately available from stock, usually ships within three days of order, and is priced from $199.00.
