CCE (Farmington Hills, MI) announced a new upgrade to EnSuite Version 2 — its multi-CAD viewing, translation, and productivity software — which includes the ability to add redlining, mark up callouts, and standard shapes and text to any model. This feature enables users who do not have access to the originating CAD system to participate in the design review process.

The interference/ clearance checking feature enables users to select any component or assembly to call out any volume interferences and contact surfaces that are highlighted in color. The software can also be used to identify parts with clearances below any value selected by the user. The output separately identifies parts with interferences, contact surfaces and clearances below the value specified by the user. This new feature is suited for validating design for manufacturability.

The upgraded version of EnSuite lists the parent/child information for each part in an assembly. This information can help purchasing identify all of the parts in an assembly in preparation for make or buy decisions.

EnSuite provides seamless interoperability with CATIA V4, CATIA V5, Pro/ENGINEER,  Unigraphics, and SolidWorks CAD systems as well as Parasolid, IGES, and STEP files. Files can be translated to and from any of these formats without the native CAD software.
