Securely share documents and drawings on mobile devices.

eQuorum announced ImageSite Mobile, an engineering document sharing solution for all mobile devices, including iPads,  Android tablets, and other common devices.

“Today’s world of mobility demands corporations up their game in securing important files, especially engineering data, while at the same time enabling greater sharing and collaboration,” said Scott Brandt, eQuorum’s CEO.

ImageSite Mobile uses HTML5 technology to be mobile device-agnostic,  allowing the use of any mobile device browser, without needing to download or to maintain any device apps.

“With the proliferation of BYOD (bring your own device), employees are increasingly looking for easy and secure ways to access their corporate information,” Brandt said. “Unfortunately, legacy systems were not built for Web access or for the smaller screen sizes of today’s mobile devices, and often compromise security. Additionally, documents maintained on mobile devices are usually stored in insecure cache memory.”

ImageSite Mobile is free as part of the ImageSite 8.6 release. File security is ensured as ImageSite manages all user access privileges to files, including viewing, downloading, copying, and e-mailing. When employees leave the organization, access to all files can be withdrawn instantly with a single action, rather than needing to de-authorize the user from every corporate application.

For situations where users may not have Wi-Fi or cellular connections,  ImageSite Mobile allows users to download documents and drawings so they can be viewed in an offline mode, but only if they have appropriate access rights. These “offline documents” are not file downloads, but images of the documents that are securely maintained on the device and easily removed by the ImageSite administrator.
