Dear DE Reader:
My grandfather witnessed technological innovations that changed—and rocked—the world he knew. Things like airplanes, talking movies and electric lighting. Today, new and emerging technologies are changing—and rocking—what you and your teams know about product design and manufacturing. Today’s Check it Out link gives you the opportunity to learn how to leverage and succeed in your changing technological landscape.
My reaction when my contact shared details on PTC’s upcoming “Future of Product Design: Smarter and Connected Virtual Conference” was “cool” and “ambitious.” Let’s start with ambitious.
In just three hours on April 11 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST), many of the people developing, implementing and fine-tuning new and emerging technologies will explain what they mean for you. In high-level presentations and panel discussions, they’ll describe how to put these technologies to work in design processes and manufacturing environments now with room to grow in the future. The speakers and panelists will take your questions.
The event will explore five major trends impacting your product design processes, including augmented reality, designing for smart connected products, collaboration and designing for additive manufacturing. Among the products used for demonstration purposes will be the PTC Creo set of design and simulation solutions and PTC’s ThingWorx platform of integrated tools for IoT (Internet of Things) product development.
Ambitious and intriguing as that is, the cool part is that this event will provide virtual booths and other amenities that you’d expect at physical conferences but without the wear on your feet trudging through McCormick Place or the travel expenses. For example, the event venue platform supports social media for public and private networking opportunities as well as threaded discussion forums.
In a Nutshell: Future of Product Design Virtual Conference
• High-level virtual event on emerging product design and manufacturing technologies.
• Topics include augmented reality, smart connected product design, collaboration and design for additive manufacturing.
• Keynotes, panel discussions and product demos; live Q&A.
• Virtual display booths, including PTC partners; resource center.
• Social media for private networking; threaded forums.
In the virtual display booths, you’ll be able to peruse an array of product demonstrations. A number of PTC’s channel partners will have a booth where you can learn more about their services and solutions. Also available will be a virtual resource center where you can grab brochures and supplementary materials like white papers. Sorry, no pens.
The whole idea of the “Future of Product Design: Smarter and Connected Virtual Conference” is making today’s new technologies fit together for your product development teams and your engineering and manufacturing business. The manner in which this event will be staged also means that it is designed to fit your busy schedule. Hit today’s Check it Out link for further details and to register.
Thanks, Pal. – Lockwood
