FARO Develops New Digitizing Arm, 2 in a Series

By DE Editors

FARO Technologies now distributes the FARO Quantum FaroArm, an eight-foot arm with accuracy to within 0.0007 inch. The Quantum FaroArm features an eight-foot working volume and is available with six or seven axes. It comes with programmable software to automate repetitive measurements. According to FARO, the Quantum FaroArm offers accuracy comparable to fixed CMMs. It is suitable for applications such as inspections, tool certification, CAD-to-part analysis, and reverse engineering.

Bluetooth support allows cable-free operation up to 30 feet away. An auto-sleep mode automatically turns off the arm to save energy.

“The Quantum FaroArm has a combination of features not found on any other device,” FARO president and CEO Jay Freeland said. “It defies the limits of portable metrology, makes measurements easier and more precise, and gives our customers a high confidence level in their ability to bring top-quality parts and products to market more quickly.”
