Formlabs Releases New Resin

Formlabs, a provider of 3D printing systems and filaments, has launched a new functional resin for engineering applications. Tough Resin, according to the company, enables users to produce strong, sturdy parts that have characteristics similar to ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene).

Tough Resin is able to absorb high-impact and mechanical stressors, making it ideal for parts that require performance under stress or strain. It is compatible with the company’s Form 1+ SLA 3D printer.

“Engineering and prototyping are a really important application of 3D printing. We’re excited to release our new Tough Resin because now Form 1+ users can create high resolution prints in a really durable, resilient material,” said Max Lobovsky, co-founder, Formlabs. “Developing new high-quality materials continues to be a really important focus for us.
