GE Aviation Achieves Level 3 Appraisal

The organization was also recognized for its compliance with Security by Design practices.

GE Aviation has received Level 3 appraisal for the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). The organization is also the first to achieve compliance with Security by Design practices, a press release states.

CMMI is the industry standard for ensuring quality software development in the Aviation industry. For certification, GE underwent a two week review at its facilities in Michigan, Ohio and Massachusetts.

“Achieving this milestone reflects the unparalleled commitment by GE Aviation to delivering aviation software which meets the highest levels of performance, quality, and continuous improvement,” said Jim Daily, president, Engineering & Technology Systems for GE Aviation. “This appraisal is unique in that it is not isolated to select projects or products, but instead represents all software developed and delivered by GE Aviation.”
