GE FirstBuild Announces Coffee Brewer Design Challenge

The Pique Cold Brew competition is looking to design a coffee maker through crowdsourcing.

GE FirstBuild is developing its new Pique Coffee Brewer through the Cold Brew Challenge. The competition is to create a crowdsourced design in line with resources from the FirstBuild community.

FirstBuild has previously created the Opal Nugget Ice Maker and Monogram Pizza Oven through its collaborations. The goal of the Cold Brew Challenge is to design a device to make a full pot of cold brew coffee in under 10 minutes.

To participate in the Cold Brew Challenge:

  • Sign up to be a FirstBuild member
  • Download the initial CAD file for a reference
  • Receive a download of Autodesk Fusion 360
  • Submit designs by March 27
“We’re looking for beautiful, functional design that will wow coffee enthusiasts,” said Taylor Dawson, product evangelist at FirstBuild. “Cold Brew is different — it’s richer, smoother and more aromatic than typical iced coffee, and we need the product design to match. FirstBuild’s co-created products are on the leading edge of the appliance industry. It’s that collaborative approach that continually results in fresh thinking.”
