Glacier Computer (New Milford, CT), a designer, developer, and supplier of rugged industrial PC-compatible devices,  announced a heated touchscreen for its Everest line of vehicle computers.

The Everest is an all-in-one computer designed for use on forklifts, carts, pallet jacks, and yard jockeys. The addition of a heated touchscreen solves the challenge of condensation refreezing on the touchscreen in applications where the forklift is being driven from a freezer to an ambient environment and back again.

The Glacier Everest comes with either a 10.4 or 12.1-in. color LCD and touchscreen. All Everest units utilize Intel processors, industrial hard drives, integrated 802.11 wireless, and multiple I/O for the connection to an array of peripherals. An internal 10-60 VDC power supply allows for connecting onto 12 VDC over the road and propane vehicles as well as 24, 36, and 48VDC electric forklifts. Solid-state hard drives offer protection against shock, vibration,  and temperature extremes commonly seen in warehouse, logistic, and manufacturing / shop floor environments.
