Graebert GmbH has updated the beta versions of its ARES 2D/3D CAD software for Mac OS X and Linux,  and is accepting a new round of beta testers for these products. The latest versions include new features, fixes, and support for .dwg 2010 via DWGDirect 3.2.

ARES uses a common design interface and runs natively across Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X, and Linux, while also being optimized for specific operating system features and capabilities. iPad support is also under active investigation, according to the company.

Minimum system requirements for the Mac and Linux Beta are:

  • An Intel x86 processor
  • Mac OS X 10.5.8 or above
  • 32 Bit Ubuntu 9.04 or above (32 Bit Fedora 11or higher untested, but expected compatible)
  •
