Granta Design Releases Product Intelligence Software

The software includes a new bill of materials analyzer, MI:Materials Gateway 2.0, and an integrated dashboard.

Granta Design has shipped GRANTA MI: Product Intelligence Package, a suite of software and data focused on optimizing products while minimizing environmental, regulatory and supply chain risks. It provides tools that draw on materials and data in order to provide feedback on the full range of risks within the CAD environment, the company states.

MI: Product Intelligence Package runs on the GRANTA MI platform and enables users to search and browse the data resource, apply it to the appropriate CAD model or bill of materials (BOM) and then run reporting calculations.

Updates to this release include:

  • A newly integrated dashboard that provides a single view of product performance against risk factors such as restricted substance content, lifecycle energy usage, CO2 footprint and supply chain risks.
  • MI:Materials Gateway 2.0, the second generation integration technology for material applications embedding in CAD systems such as Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, NX, PTC Creo and Pro/Engineer.
  • MI:BoM Analyzer, a web-based application that enables users to import and edit existing BOMs, build new BOMs from scratch, assign materials and processes and run reporting calculations.
“MI:Product Intelligence is a step forward for Granta on two fronts”, said Patrick Coulter, chief operating officer of Granta Design. “It helps our customers to apply the material intelligence developed through GRANTA MI to deliver better, greener, safer products. And, through our new BoM Analyzer, it has demonstrated an enhanced capability to rapidly develop a new generation of GRANTA MI tools.”
