HBM Prenscia Updates nCode v. 13.1

HBM Prenscia has released version 13.1 release of nCode DesignLife, GlyphWorks and VibeSys, aiming to improve its suite of software for finite element-based fatigue analysis.

HBM Prenscia has released version 13.1 release of nCode DesignLife, GlyphWorks and VibeSys, aiming to improve its suite of software for finite element-based fatigue analysis, signal processing, vibration analysis and durability, the company reports.

nCode DesignLife 13.1 introduces a “glyph” for reconstructing load histories without the use of Python. This new glyph calculates the input force time histories required to cause a set of measured strains. These forces are inputs used for design purposes and further engineering simulations.  Error bounds on the predicted load histories are estimated from the measured strain histories providing guidance on the accuracy of the predicted loads. The standard capability of stress-life (SN) and strain-life (EN) analysis calculations have been enhanced by the additional critical distance method for notch sensitivity along with a 3D critical plane method.

The Operating Deflection Shape display glyph is now easier to set up for animating measured deflections. Users can graphically select nodes from the model and specify any direction vector when mapping input channels. Once mapped, those nodes are then clearly identified.

nCode GlyphWorks 13.1 provides users with new display capabilities and exports of PDF reports, allowing engineers to produce displays in order to better understand behaviors, trends or correlations between data, the company reports.

The Premium Materials Database contains new material entries populated from testing performed by our Advanced Materials Characterization & Test Facility (AMCT).

“We now have 126 material entries available through the Premium Materials Database – that’s 54 new materials added since its introduction in 2014,” says Jon Aldred, vice president of product management at HBM Prenscia. “We have also continued to add materials to the standard database with the addition of BS7608 (2014) steel and BS8118 aluminum weld curves.”
