Hexagon Metrology Enhances Classic CMM

Hexagon Metrology has updated its 4.5.4 SF CMM (coordinate measuring machine) with advancements for the user.

The system now includes integrated LED lighting, a revised base bolt-hole pattern to accommodate a 300mm kinematic plate and granite etching on the measurement envelope. Power switches have been added to the front of the machine for simplicity and there is now programmable status lighting on the z-axis.

For upgrade options, users can add an integrated monitor and keyboard arm are able to replace the workstation for increased flexibility on the shop floor.

The 4.5.4 SF CMM can fit through a standard size door and uses 110/220 volt outlets without needing shop air. It also has advanced thermal isolation, temperature compensation and covered bearing ways.

“The 4.5.4 SF has been very popular with our customers, providing solutions for high quality and low cost shop-floor dimensional measurement operations,” says Eric Bennett, CMM product manager, Hexagon Metrology. “The next generation 4.5.4 SF builds on that success by adding many of the user experience items first introduced on the 7.10.7 SF. We expect these additional features to greatly enhance our customers’ manufacturing productivity.”
