Hexagon Metrology’s  TESA MH3D-DUAL coordinate measuring machine offers a combination of manual and automatic measurement functionality for increased flexibility on the shop floor or in the quality laboratory, the company says.

A major feature of the MH3D-DUAL system is its fast, flexible TESA-REFLEX Dual data management software  with seven measuring options; points, lines, circles, planes, cones,  spheres, and cylinders. The system’s built-in “automatic feature recognition” function assists the operator by suggesting the best solution to measure a small or large series of parts. The software also automatically displays the characteristics linked to measured features.

“Manufacturers no longer have to choose between manual and automatic CMMs, as the MH3D-DUAL integrates the best of both metrology worlds,”  said Marcel Bila, TESA marketing director. “This groundbreaking machine makes 3D measurement simple, comprehensible, and productive for a busy shop floor environment. The versatility of the system raises the CMM bar to a higher level of process efficiency. The MH3D-DUAL is a profitable choice for customers looking for a rapid return on investment.”

The CMM’s shop hardened control panel is designed to withstand dust and oil particles found in industrial production environments. A new palette system automatically measures a complete pallet of parts based on a manual sequence.
