IMSI/Design (Novato, CA) is shipping TurboCAD Professional Version 15. Among dozens of new features is Green Building Content, which includes photovoltaic (solar) roofing panels; structurally integrated panels (SIP); insulating concrete forms (ICF); and energy efficient foundations and flooring.

Other improvements exist in 2D Drafting, 3D Modeling and UI including a new bill of materials (BOM) so you can cost your design projects and tie them to the building information management work flow; a new support of table object to be used with the new BOM feature; table objects are AutoCAD compatible; a new rotated box 3D object lets you draw a box at any angle on the active workplane; and a new mode in edit dragger / edit segment offers improved editing of walls, slabs, and bulge polylines. Plus, more than 300 new photorealistic materials can enhance the photorealism of your designs.

Architectural and civil engineering CAD improvements include a new layout tool for woodworking that lets you create 2D layout of 3D model to optimize cutting/ manufacturing of components; an improved style manager for architectural objects gives you better control over architectural designs and the ability to make quick changes to common architectural object types; an improved schedule table that includes support for walls and slabs; a new surveyor linear dimension that offers enhanced 2D drafting capabilities; and an improved terrain tool lets you create terrain objects from selected points.

Mechanical CAD advancements include improved assembling of 3D objects with enhanced 3D design with additional alignment tools like tangent and axis; new automatic workplane by face making it easier to make edits to 3D objects; and a new ACIS v17 Solid Modeling Engine. There are also several interoperability and content enhancements include format support for solid modeling and for virtual reality.

TurboCAD Professional 15 is available at a SRP of $1,295. Current TurboCAD users can purchase upgrades directly from IMSI/Design.
