Infolytica Corporation (Montreal, QC, Canada)  released updates to MagNet, ElecNet, and ThermNet that offer improvements in usability, such as new validations and error-checking mechanisms.

Modifications to MagNet’s transient electromagnetic field with full 6 DOF motion solvers,  which were recently demonstrated at a seminar, are also included.

The new version of ThermNet supports coupling with MagNet’s updated core loss calculation method, which computes the hysteresis plus the anomalous and eddy current losses in both 2D and 3D. In a simulation, the advanced core loss calculation algorithm for eddy currents takes different harmonics into account;  for hysteresis loss, it takes into account minor loops.

Infolytica also released a detailed case study titled “Iron Loss Calculations in Laminated Structures Using MagNet.”

MagNet v6.27, ElecNet v6.19, and ThermNet v1.17 are available for PCs running Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, and Vista. For information regarding pricing, or to request an evaluation, please contact Infolytica Corporation.
