PAM-RTM for CATIA V5 targets the difficulties of modern materials.

ESI Group (Paris, France and Bloomfield Hills, MI) has released PAM-RTM for CATIA V5, a new version of its injection simulation software for composites manufacturing. PAM-RTM for CATIA V5 address the technological challenges presented by modern materials that enable the production of thicker and larger yet lighter weight and more elaborate composite parts.

Intended for use in such industries as aeronautics, ship building, and automotive, PAM-RTM for CATIA V5 provides features and functionality for to simulate composite parts manufacturing based on liquid composite molding processes like RTM (resin transfer molding) or VARTM (vacuum-assisted RTM). By extension, you can then design and develop new tooling and processes for composite materials. It fine-tunes the mold design and the process parameters in order to make sure that the parts are injected correctly first time.

ESI-Group says that PAM-RTM for CATIA V5 is the result of the full implementation of PAM-RTM capabilities in CATIA V5 and a long-term collaboration with industries leaders. The software is said to leverage the seamless integration of simulation algorithms within CATIA V5 performed on the native geometry, which should reduce simulation cycle times by directly linking mold design and simulation results. It also lets you perform injection analysis directly on the CAD model, ensuring a consistent geometric dataflow in an iterative continuous improvement process.
