INUS Technology, Inc. (Seoul, Korea), the developer of Rapidform 3D scanning software, announced that INNEO Solutions GmbH (Ellwangen, Germany), a leading provider of CAD/CAM/CAE and PDM/PLM solutions, has joined its partner program.

INNEO joined forces with INUS Technology to address its customers’ increasing demand for reverse engineering technologies with a 3D scanning software solution that complements its portfolio of CAD and PLM products.

Reverse engineering is a powerful tool for generating a CAD model from the 3D scan data of a physical part that either lacks documentation or has changed from the original CAD design of the part. The process of digitizing a part and creating a parametric CAD model from 3D scan data is less time consuming and provides greater accuracy than manually measuring the part and designing it from scratch in CAD. Rapidform XOR software creates fully parametric CAD models from 3D scan data. Once a part has been designed in Rapidform XOR, the model can be exported to a variety of CAD applications with full modeling history, including SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, and UGS NX.

Wolfgang Stoll, INNEO’s product management director, cited Rapidform’s liveTransfer as the main motivation behind the partnership agreement. The liveTransfer system processes 3D scanner information and outputs parametric solid model data in Pro/ENGINEER’s native file format.

INUS Technology Rapidform 3D scanning software is used in research and development,  civil engineering, quality inspection, medical research, and manufacturing. INNEO Solutions provides CAD/CAM/CAE, PDM/PLM, project management, and IT solutions with a range of services that includes training and education, process-oriented consulting, and design-automation concepts for product development.
