The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC; Portland, OR) released IntelliCAD 7.0 Alpha to the ITC members; a beta version is due in 2Q08.

IntelliCAD 7.0 integrates DWGdirect from the Open Design Alliance (http://opendesign.com) directly as its internal database, which provides improved performance in loading and saving files, full access to the DWGdirect DRX development interface (an object-oriented C++ API), and a flexible new graphics subsystem.

When completed, IntelliCAD 7.0 will further enhance the ability of ITC members to create advanced and highly specialized vertical applications and deliver robust CAD technology to their end-users.

IntelliCAD 7.0 Alpha includes over 250 rewritten commands, several of which are now demand-loaded DRX external applications, UNICODE support, improved paperspace functionality, Diesel menu support, object enabler for Autodesk Architecture, improved DWG file format compatibility, and an improved user interface.
