Altair’s PBS GridWorks is a suite of on-demand grid computing technologies that allows enterprises to maximize ROI on computing infrastructure assets.  During SC08, PBS GridWorks will be conducting presentations and providing demonstrations of their upcoming release of GridWorks 10.0. New to this release will be the introduction of several new products and extended features including:

  • PBS Professional Green Provisioning - provides the ability to schedule jobs to minimize the use of electric power, and provides a Shut-down service when computing resources are not in use. PBS Professional allows the administrator to set minimum workload levels, and automatically adjust computing resource use based on actual demand.
  •
  • GridWorks Analytics - A web-based tool for visualizing HPC usage data, empowering IT professionals to keep track and plan use and growth of their computing infrastructure.
  •
  • Personal PBS - Simply drag-and-drop your input files onto Personal PBS and turn your desktop into a miniature compute farm – for free!  Personal PBS lets you access the added power of today’s multi-core desktops by queuing up and running complex jobs in the background, using idle computing cycles, without interfering with your normal desktop activities.
  •
  • Birds-of-a-Feather Presentation
    Tuesday November 18th, 12:15 PM – 1:15 PM, Room 17A/17B
“Workload management and job scheduling from desktops to petaflops”
Dr. Bill Nitzberg chief technology officer, GridWorks
