Kineo CAM has released its first commercial dynamic collision checker for 3D software environments. KCD-Dynamic is a fully-featured software component that integrates collision detection for moving systems into a single software library. According to the company, the solution can help in the development collision avoidance applications without requiring developers to create new motion analysis algorithms or new layers to manage collision detection features.

Capabilities of the system include a high-performance collision detection library for real time user interaction; complete kinematic chain and constraints description to describe any kind of system and its motion; integrated collision testing along a trajectory; detection of upcoming collision; and clearance and proximity computation.

The software is available as a C++ software library for an easy integration into third-party software applications, and will be available on Dec. 15, 2011.
