LMI Technologies (LMI)  announced the official release of the HDI 120 3D Scanner, its smallest advanced 3D scanning system using blue LED projection technology. The scanner delivers high resolution, accurate 3D scanning results at a low cost, the company says.

According to the company, the HDI 120 can be used for reverse engineering, 3D inspection, measurement, and visualization. With a solid aluminium body that is dust proof and water resistant (IP67 rated), the pre-calibrated scanner is built to operate in harsh environments.

Powered by FlexScan3D software, users can process 3D data with built-in data editing, alignment, and merging capabilities without exporting to a separate post-processing software application.

“At LMI, we believe in making 3D technologies more accessible,” said Terry Arden, CEO of LMI. “With the HDI 120 3D Scanner, we are committed to delivering the latest advanced 3D scanning solution that provides high quality 3D scan results at an affordable price. While 3D scanning technologies are often perceived as complex, the HDI 120 is designed with simplicity in mind. Due to the price point of the scanner and its ease-of-use, we are expecting more companies to adopt 3D scanning technology that spark innovative uses in different industrial and commercial applications.”
