MakerBot  announced three new printer: the MakerBot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer; MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer; and MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D Printer.

All three printers run on a common MakerBot Replicator 3D Printing Platform, which enables improved reliability, ease of use, and seamless connectivity, the company says.

Each printer includes the MakerBot Replicator Smart Extruder, which the company says is easy to swap or replace.  It also detects filament absence and automatically pauses a print. And on-board camera enables print monitoring and sharing.

The printers also feature USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi connectivity, and a 3.5-in. full-color LCD display and intuitive dial.

The new printers are designed for use with new MakerBot cloud-enabled apps.
