2011 technology orders top $3.4 billion.

August U.S. manufacturing technology orders totaled $460.61 million according to the Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and the American Machine Tool Distributors Association (AMTDA). That’s down 9.4 percent from July, but up 88.5 percent compared to August 2010. With a year-to-date total of $3.4 billion , 2011 orders are up 101.0% compared with 2010.

The report is based on data from the United States Manufacturing Technology Orders (USMTO) report, jointly compiled by the two trade associations.
