Materialise Enhances FDM Machine Park

With the installation of two additional Stratasys Maxum systems, Materialise (Leuven, Belgium)  strengthens its position as the largest state-of-the-art fused deposition modeling (FDM) facility in Europe. Materialise now has 14 FDM systems in its machine park

Since its creation in December 2003, the FDM facility at Materialise has undergone continuous expansion. In 2007, 5099 FDM parts were ordered and produced (cf. 2225 FDM parts in 2004).

To meet the growing demand for FDM components, especially large, platform filling parts, two additional Maxum systems from Stratasys were added to the Materialise FDM facility in Leuven, Belgium, allowing increased production of large models in tough ABS and ABSi plastic with water soluble supports.

Materialise’s FDM center now houses 10 FDM Maxums (ABS/ABSi materials and build area of 600 x 500 x 600 mm), 3 FDM Titans (ABS/ABSi,  PC/PC-ABS/PC-ISO, and PPSU materials with a build area of 406 x 355 x 406 mm),  and 1 FDM Vantage (ABS/ABSi and PC/PC-ABS/PC-ISO materials with a build area of 406 x 355 x 406 mm).

In addition to expanding the number of machines at its FDM park, Materialise continues to offer customers the opportunity to order FDM parts online (through www.materialise.com/onsite).
