KOMPAS provides a professional framework for 3D solid parametric modeling, 2D drafting, design, and release of documentation. A range of add-ons and libraries arrange additional features, such as photo rendering, animation,  kinematic and dynamic analysis, and extended CAD/CAM/PLM integration.

Since the first version of KOMPAS - CAD Solution was released in 1989,  it has more than 30,000 CAD installations in Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS; formerly theUSSR ).

KOMPAS-3D V9 is the second version completely supported internationally in English and other languages, providing an alternative for industrial companies to cut down software implementation costs while saving all the professional CAD functionality advantages.
