Mentor Graphics Releases Tool for Signal Integrity Simulation

HyperLynx can now support power-aware IBIS models and next-generation memory requirements.

Mentor Graphics has released the latest version of its HyperLynx Signal Integrity/Power Integrity (SI/PI) platform for high-speed printed circuit board (PCB) designs. The application is equipped with toolds for pre- and post-layout signal integrity, timing, crosstalk and power integrity for simulation results that prevent design re-spins.

New features in HyperLynx include power-aware IBIS model support and DDRx wizard for DDR4/LPDDR4 validation. The IBIS model support, according to the company, can accurately model supply currents, pre-driver effects, switching slowdown and buffer capacitance modeling. It can also simulate simultaneous switching noise for next-generation memory interconnects.

The DDRx wizard can verify all DDR memory types, produce eye diagrams for DDR3 and DDR4 and complete simulation with eye-based metric checks.

Other features in the platform include back drilling support, a Touchstone Viewer for ILD, ICR and other metrics as well as SERDES enhancements for IBIS 6.0 compatibility.

“Our market-leading HyperLynx product continues to serve the high-speed demands of today’s most advanced systems designs,” said A.J. Incorvaia, vice president and general manager of Mentor Graphics’ Systems Design Division. “Our new power-aware modeling technology enables our customers to quickly and accurately simulate complex signaling protocols, saving them substantial time and cost.”
